Mike Tyson was the most feared man in the world during his prime. His brutal knockouts even earned him the moniker “The Baddest Man on the Planet”. Even today, fans all over the world remain in awe of the retired boxer’s magnetism. Safe to say that there has been no fighter who could match the level of Tyson. However, did you know, the boxer himself once identified a fighter who he believed resembled him?

When Mike Tyson visited the Glendale Fighting Club a few years ago, UFC champion Ronda Rousey was sparring with her coach, and she threw him hard, sending him sprawling to the canvas with a loud boom.

Tyson stated in an interview, “Listen, if you want to become anything close to being a god, the first thing you’ve got to know how to do is know how to decimate,” Tyson said. “If you’re a god, you have to know how to decimate, and that’s what she does. It would be very easy for her to have a big head, [to say,] ‘I can beat anybody in this world.’ I don’t know. Maybe she’s a likeness of a god.”

The legendary boxer saw himself in a young Ronda Rousey. Notably, the UFC fighter has dominated the UFC world like no other fighter, just like Tyson did in his time. The former champion was shocked to see the sheer power of Rousey.
