Conor McGregor Responds to Being Dubbed “The Owner” of UFC by Canelo Alvarez’s Rival

The MMA and boxing industries are closely related to each other. Both being a form of combat sports, many fighters involve themselves in the other sport. Even legendary UFC fighter Conor McGregor had participated in a boxing match against Floyd Mayweather. 

Furthermore, British boxer Billy Joe Saunders did a Q&A session with his fans on Instagram. A fan asked him, “Who do you like watching in the UFC?” And the boxer replied, “The owner @thenotoriousmma”.

McGregor has been one of the most popular and successful MMA fighters of this era. He has been a big name in this industry and has amassed millions of dollars. Even his boxing debut turned out to be one of the most lucrative fights of all time. Much like Saunders, the entire world likes watching ‘The Notorious’ inside the octagon.  

Apparently, Saunders fought the Mexican icon, Canelo Alvarez, in 2021. With 30 victories under his belt, Saunders had just one loss in a stellar career—to Alvarez. McGregor had previously shared a mocking picture of the British boxer. But as of right now, everything appears to be OK between the two, as even the UFC champion reposted the story on his Instagram.

The sensational clash between Floyd Mayweather and Conor McGregor 

The biggest boxer facing the biggest MMA fighter was a big deal for the entire world. It was obvious that it was watched by millions around the world, as boxing fans and UFC fans had binged to watch this epic clash. Even people who didn’t watch combat sports had tuned in to witness this magnanimous war.

The Mayweather vs McGregor fight took place on August 26, 2017, in front of a sold-out crowd at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. Billed as ‘The Biggest Fight in Combat Sports History’, the clash evidently lived up to the expectations.

Both the warriors put forth a display of brilliant skill and strong jabs. Eventually, after a ruthless battle, the American fighter won the fight in the 10th round, extending his unbeatable record. It was one of the biggest paydays for both icons.
