Former UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov appeared on the ’Hot Boxin’ podcast with Mike Tyson and Henry Cejudo. Tyson’s famed podcast has had several high-profile guests on deck, however, Khabib Nurmagomedov’s appearance likely takes the cake. Despite retiring from MMA, Nurmagomedov remains one of the most prolific stars in the entire sport.

An on-sight reporter from ES News was backstage and caught Nurmagomedov as he’s was exiting the set. Chiefly, the reporter asked Mike Tyson if he thought Nurmagomedov would have made a good boxer. ‘Iron’ Mike said that he indeed would and Nurmagomedov was asked to share his views on what Tyson thought about him.

“Not like him [Mike Tyson]. I wish but not like him in boxing.”

Nurmagomedov’s sentiments are understandable as it’s virtually impossible to stand up to Mike Tyson’s boxing ability. Even in his fifties, Tyson proved that he’s still got what it takes to make his mark in the ring. Not to mention, his storied career is one that many active boxers can’t hold a candle to.

Khabib Nurmagomedov clearly has a great deal of respect for Manny Pacquiao as indicated by his response to the question about the fight.

Pacquiao’s impact is felt not only by fans in the boxing community but also by famed fighters like Khabib Nurmagomedov. However, he has a massive roadblock in front of him in the form of Errol Spence Jr. who is looking to make his mark. The road to victory won’t be easy, however, Manny Pacquiao has never been one to take his foot off the pedal.
