In an interview with FightHype in 2014, Mayweather revealed his complete disregard for the opinions of  Smith. ‘Money’ also emphasized his lack of respect for Smith’s opinions by highlighting that he has never seen the analyst take part in any of the sports he criticizes, whether it be basketball, football, or boxing.

“Listen, I don’t give two flying f**ks about what Stephen A. Smith says. I ain’t never seen Stephen A. Smith dribble a basketball, catch a football, or box, so I can give two flying f**ks what Stephen A. Smith says. Quote me on that! I repeat, I don’t give a f**k what Stephen A. Smith gotta say…He’s just a critic” said Mayweather.

This was not the case with Jordan and Mayweather, who made their opponents look less skilled.

“You’re talking about Mayweather, right? I would say the same about Jordan, but that’s the difference. That’s what I’m saying, you know, because Jordan will make you look like you’re less than what you are. LeBron would beat you, but MJ will make you look like less than what you are.” he said
