Boxing legend Floyd Mayweather and NBA great Shaquille O’Neal are two such sportsmen who have amassed a fortune even after their retirement from the sport. However, the former steals the show and is placed above O’Neal in terms of investments.

Floyd Mayweather is regarded as the richest boxer in the world. His PPV fights always top the list of the most lucrative combat sports events, and it even earned him the moniker, ‘Money’. He never shies from showing off his huge business empire, and his Instagram is proof of it.

Mayweather was once talking in a press conference where he revealed his billion-dollar investment in buildings. He stated, “I own billion-dollar buildings, I own so much property and I’m steady investing in different things. I’m invested in the tech world, I made a lot of smart investments.”

In a recent interview with Forbes, the pound-for-pound king revealed that he owns nine skyscrapers, including one of New York City’s biggest. In addition, he disclosed information regarding a $20 billion deal that he is working on. Even if Shaq has made some impressive investments, Mayweather has outdone him with his $20 billion agreement and his billion-dollar towers.

Shaquille O’Neal’s investment in a trillion-dollar empire  

The former Los Angeles Lakers player was regarded as the league’s top center. The late NBA legend Kobe Bryant and O’Neal bonded well on the court and were one of the most deadly duos at the time. Shaq’s stellar basketball career brought him fame and income, but his investments account for the majority of his wealth.

O’Neal reportedly invested in Google’s 1999 Series A at a valuation of $100 million. Currently, Google is a giant organization with a huge global footprint. With Google (Alphabet) currently valued at an astounding $1.89 trillion, Shaq’s investment over time grew into a valuable asset. Additionally, the company pays out astounding dividends, and the former NBA player still owns some stock in the company.
