Boxing legend Floyd Mayweather has been atop the sport of boxing for the better part of two decades. While athletes like LeBron James and Tom Brady have pushed the limits on what it means to be a professional performing at the highest-level year after year, ‘Money’ has taken this to another level.

Mayweather made his professional debut in 1996 and competed in his last professional match 21 years later in 2017. However, he still continues to fight in exhibitions to this day making his career one of the longest in sports history. In addition, he revealed exactly why he was able to perform at a high level for so long also taking some shots at James, who also has had a very long career.

‘TBE’ recently made an appearance at an event to promote the movie Fear alongside NBA legend Scottie Pippen. Here he went on to state that he started boxing professionally when Pippen was playing. He then claimed that he was also boxing when James was a child and is still doing the same thing as the 4-time NBA champion’s career reaches its conclusion.

I mean y’all want everybody to really be smart. You know you hear so many things, but you got to say how the f*ck can he survive for 27 years living like this. When Scotty was playing, you know I was competing. I was a professional when Scotty was playing. When LeBron James was a kid, I was a professional. His career is almost over and I’m still competing. My Philosophy is never stopped getting it,” he sai.

While James has been performing very well for his age, the same cannot be said about his team. Moreover, with the Lakers nowhere near title contention this season, it is safe to say that it might not be long until ‘The Chosen One’ hangs up his boots.

LeBron James was not the only one ‘Money’ was targeting in the event. He also went on to take some shots at arguably the greatest basketball player Michael Jordan. He stated that Jordan could not have won any of his championships, if it wasn’t for Pippen. “Remember, a guy like Scottie Pippen, hell of a player you know. Remember Michael Jordan wouldn’t have no rings if it weren’t for Scottie Pippen,” he said.

Jordan and Pippen were the most successful duo in the NBA back in the 90s. Moreover, while Jordan was the star of the team, Pippen was the perfect complementary piece for ‘MJ’ as they dominated the league for a whole decade.
