Mexican boxing sensation Canelo Alvarez is regarded as the biggest boxer of this generation. He is often asked about his favorite fighters and who he thinks would make a good boxer. In an interview, Alvarez was asked if he thinks NBA legend LeBron James would make a good boxer or not. Take a look at what he had to say.

While talking to GQ Sports recently, Saul Alvarez was asked, “Would LeBron James be a good boxer?”

The boxer replied, “Why not? I think he has skills for the sport. He’s an athlete, 100 percent. If he had dedicated himself to being a fighter, he could do it.”

Well, King James is a pure athlete and has accomplished something that very few sportsmen have. Alvarez feels that he can definitely become a boxer. Interestingly, it was once even speculated that James could knock out the ‘The Baddest Man on the Planet’, Mike Tyson.

The NBA player has been very sincere and disciplined about his game for many years now. His perseverance has resulted in him becoming one of the greatest NBA players of all time. Notably, he also crossed the $1 billion net worth mark recently. He has conquered the NBA world, but fans once suggested that he could also conquer the boxing world by defeating boxing great Mike Tyson.

Basketball and boxing are two completely different sports and require different skills to reach legendary status. Tyson and James have both taken the bar higher with their outstanding performances in their respective sports. Although fans often make such comparisons, we can never decide who would win between Tyson and James in a boxing match. 

Canelo Alvarez vs. Gennady Golovkin: A fight for greatness 

Alvarez and Gennady Golovkin first fought inside the ring in 2017, which ended in a highly controversial draw. It was certain that there needs to be a rematch, and the two met again after a year for a potential rematch. Both of them showed excellent boxing skills, but the Mexican outclassed the Kazakh and emerged as the winner. 

However, now the two will go up against each other tomorrow, and fans couldn’t be more excited about it. The most anticipated fight of the year has finally reached its fruition.
