Former world heavyweight champion, Mike Tyson, has had a deep-set admiration for LA Lakers shooting guard, Kobe Bryant. Meanwhile, Tyson mentioned that NBA legend Michael Jordan has to die, to decide if he was a bigger athlete than Bryant.

Tyson was hosting his ‘Hotboxin’ with Mike Tyson’ podcast with co-host DJ Whoo Kid. Former Memphis Grizzlies small forward, Matt Barnes, and Phoenix Suns shooting guard, ‘Stak’ Jackson were the guests for the episode.

In conversation, DJ Whoo Kid asked Tyson if he has interacted with Bryant. Tyson responded by saying, “He’s a beautiful guy. Wanted to be the best in the world. He said you see you’re the youngest heavyweight champion. I’m gonna be the youngest NBA champ.”

Further, Kid asked Tyson if he considered Bryant a more legendary player than Michael Jordan.

To this Tyson responds, saying, “Nothing can beat death. Kobe’s not around anymore. Let’s wait and see until MJ’s not around no more. Then we see who’s the biggest.”

Tyson’s response surprises the others present at the podcast. In fact, they even agree that the opinions of the legendary boxer makes sense.

Kobe Bryant’s death changes Mike Tyson

Kobe Bryant was killed in a helicopter crash, along with his daughter Gianna and nine others on January 26, 2020.

Mike Tyson was deeply affected by Bryant’s death. He was talking on his podcast with NBA player Damian Lillard and Eben Britton when he made the revelation. Talking about Bryant’s death, Tyson said, “Life is just preparing you for death. That’s what life is, pretty much a blueprint to death.”

He further added, “This tells us that life is very short. But, even more so than that, it’s very unpredictable.”

Tyson also mentioned that he is a changed man after Bryant’s death. He said, “I think from something like this, we just saw, even though with if we learned. Even intend to learn, this dissolved the system because we are all different after. Now, I’m a different person now since that happened.”

He also mentioned that he was unsure as to what happened. But, nevertheless, he is a different person.
