Errol Spence Jr. is one of the best pound-for-pound boxers in the world. The thirty-three-year-old is the current unified welterweight champion. Spence has been defending his titles since 2019. Needless to say, an athlete of that caliber will not just be a physical specimen but also mentally tough. Mike Tyson, in the past, stated that boxing is as mental as it is physical.

Indeed, one must be self-motivated at all times to succeed in any competitive sport. Spence recently shared a clip of Giannis Antetokounmpo on his Instagram story. The basketball player candidly expressed the need to be mentally strong and self-motivated.

Antetokounmpo is a young, 28-year-old basketball player. He has been a celebrated player in NBA for a substantial period. The 28-year-old is a role model that many fans can look up to.

@vsgent reported a candid message made by Antetokounmpo in which he talks about how he does not require anyone to motivate him. He stated, There is nobody around me. nobody likes me, man. It is what it is. Sometimes in life, people are not going to be around you to motivate you. To push you, to celebrate you.”

Indeed, those are some words of wisdom. His message makes it evident why Antetokounmpo is such a successful basketball player. He added, “You gotta do it on your own. That’s what I am doing right now.”

Spence Jr is also someone who shares the same philosophy. He reposted the reel on his Instagram story. Even though the two athletes compete in different sports yet they are aware of what it requires to become one of the best.

Antetokounmpo is a phenomenal talent and he is aware of that. He does not shy away from expressing his thoughts on his skillsets and achievements. In an interview, the young player compared himself to the likes of Kevin Durant and Stephen Curry. He admitted that the two are more talented than him but he was “desperate” to work hard to where he is right now.
