Shaq said, “I like Mayweather. He talks a lot of trash, he backs it up. Everybody’s complaining that he is not a real fighter. He is smarter, when you get older, you are smarter. When you are young and flamboyant, you can do a lot of out-of-control stuff. But, boxing game is a lot about this (pointing to his brain) as well as a lot of your physical power.”

Apparently, ‘Shaq’ feels that Floyd Mayweather is a savvy athlete who understands how to make mature athletic decisions. Further, even after retiring from basketball, the former athlete maintained his stardom. He works as a sports analyst for the program Inside The NBA right now.

Moreover, O’Neal has appeared in various Hollywood movies and shows. He also has his own TV series named ‘Shaq Vs’, where he takes on athletes from their respective sports. He has even had boxing bouts with Oscar De La Hoya and Shane Mosley.
Floyd Mayweather’s illustrious boxing career
Mayweather made his professional debut in the year 1996. Since then, the undisputed pound-for-pound champion has a stunning 50-0 record and is still unbeaten. The fighter has had excellent training from legendary boxers since his childhood. The two people who have influenced him the most are his father Floyd Mayweather Sr. and his uncle Roger Mayweather.
