After an extensive gap of almost 25 months, Adrien Broner is charged up for his return fight on February 20. The ‘Problem’ last fought against the Filippino Senator, Manny Pacquiao, for the WBA welterweight title. In the bout, he suffered a lopsided unanimous decision loss and bowed out.

However, he is looking to make a comeback and aim for a rise to the top of the boxing world once more.

Bit a security guard once

Back when he was 23-years-old, Broner, who was in Miami at the Fontainebleau Hotel, entered a brawl with a man. Two security guards ran towards them to separate and settle them down. ‘In the melee, ‘The Problem’ bit one of the security guards on the forearm and was charged with a $1,500 bond.

The ‘Problem’ is one of the most controversial boxers at present. He has had a history of arrests. In fact, he missed the 2008 Olympics because of a 14-month jail sentence for some alleged charges. He was also arrested in 2017 and 2018 on a few other charges.

Shares a colossal beef with Paulie Malignaggi

The 31-year-old fought Malignaggi in 2013. Prior to the fight, Broner took a dig at the American-Italian boxer for his past relationship. Broner not only fired verbal shots but gave him a taste of his prowess in the ring and won the fight with a split decision.

Went undefeated for the first 5 years of his career

The American debuted in 2008 and signified his run by overpowering every opponent. He finished a major chunk of opponents and became a fan-favorite soon. However, in 2013, in his twenty-eighth fight, the resilient Marcos Maidana ended his winning streak. In a hard-fought battle, Broner lost the bout with a unanimous decision on judges’ scorecards.
