For many years, Mike Tyson has been famous as the ‘Baddest Man on the Planet’. The hard-hitting boxer had so much power that he became the youngest heavyweight champion in history. However, at 54, Tyson may have officially passed on the crown to another fighter.
The prestigious title seems to have gone to newly crowned UFC champion Francis Ngannou. Fresh off a fantastic knockout victory over Stipe Miocic, the honors keep coming for the Cameroonian. However, the latest one will hold a special value to him.
Tyson welcomed the 16-3 MMA fighter on his podcast, ‘Hotboxin with Mike Tyson’. ‘Iron Mike’ gave Ngannou a grand welcome and referred to him as “The new UFC heavyweight champion of the entire world. What’s that…? 7 billion people? What’s the world’s population…? 7-8 billion people? 7-8 billion people, you could beat in a fair fight. The children, the babies, the girls…”

Do these comments from Mike Tyson hold value even in the boxing ring?
With his comments, Tyson made it clear that he thinks Ngannou would beat any combat artist in a fight. While some may disagree with his comments, many will agree with these claims in the octagon. However, does it apply in the boxing ring too?
If Tyson’s comment suggests ‘The Predator’ is the ‘Baddest Man on the Planet,’ then he thinks that the new UFC heavyweight champion would defeat boxers like Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua. And while his power would be enough to dispatch both the champions, it would be harder than it appears.

Both Fury and Joshua are skilled technicians. Furthermore, unlike MMA, a boxing fight would not allow Ngannou to use his vicious kicks. Therefore, it would be harder for him to catch the boxing champions. However, the UFC champion has already expressed his desire to fight them.
Despite this, if only power was the sole consideration, Ngannou certainly tops the list among all combat sports. Therefore, it is clear to see why Mike Tyson rates the Cameroonian so highly.
