Furthermore, former world champion Paul Malignaggi also had some thoughts regarding Fury pulling out of the fight as he mocked Fury for pulling out and held a minute of silence for the British boxer.
Malignaggi compares Tommy Fury and his replacement for Jake Paul
After Paul announced that he would be moving on from the fight, Malignaggi and his co-hosts were not shy to take shots at the British boxer on their podcast. They held a minute of silence to mock Fury for pulling out of the fight yet again. Moreover, the Love Island star was supposed to be Paul’s first test, however, the former champion claimed that Fury’s replacement Hasim Rahman Jr. who is 12-1 at heavyweight, will be a tougher challenge for the Problem Child.
“This is a real boxer. I did not think Tommy Fury was a real boxer. I mean Rahman Jr’s been boxing. I don’t know how active he’s been, but nonetheless, this is a guy who intended to make a career for himself in boxing even if it hasn’t panned out for him yet. This is not Tommy Fury, who essentially was the same as Jake Paul despite what the British media tabloids tried to sell us on.” said Malignaggi.
Moreover, he stated that Fury is not a real boxer and entered the same way as Paul. “Tommy Fury was supposed to be the first real boxer Jake was fighting. That was actually a false narrative. Tommy Fury was not the first real boxer. He was the exact same thing Jake Paul was; a reality TV guy who was boxing.” He added.
