Ryan Garcia recently made waves in the boxing world after swiftly beating Javier Fortuna via KO in the sixth round. Garcia was in control throughout the fight and Fortuna, who was stated to be the toughest challenge for Garcia, had no answer for the 23-year-old’s quick punches before eventually getting dropped in the sixth round.

After the fight, The Flash stated that he would like to remain at 140 pounds in the future, although he had competed at 135-pounds throughout his career. Moreover, he also claimed that he wanted to face long-time rival Gervonta Davis at 140 pounds instead of 135, where the pair usually compete.”I will fight Tank next at 140lbs. I’m gonna record all the negotiations, so you can’t say I’m ducking. That fight’s gonna give me the respect I deserve. Where there’s a will, there’s a way.” He said in the post-fight press conference.

The main man in the sport of boxing is the one that’s attached to me, Gervonta Tank Davis. That’s the only thing that this kid Ryan Garcia its the only thing he knows is Tank. That’s the only name he knows is Tank, right. He said all I wanna do is fight Tank. I don’t care if it’s the biggest fight. Okay you wanna fight Tank, you know in boxing we make sacrifices so we know Tank fights at 135 so if you wanna fight Tank at 135 we can make it happen before the end of the year.” said Mayweather, stating that they could make the fight with Davis at the end of the year if Garcia is willing to move down to 135-pounds.

The reporter then asked Mayweather if Davis would be willing to move to 140 pounds to fight Garcia, to which he replied, “Absolutely Not.” It seems Tank isn’t interested in moving up to 140 pounds to fight Garcia, which adds doubt to the possibility of this fight.
