Cross-generational fights have been on the rise in recent times. Now, there is a potential fight that can be the next big thing! Well, here’s the deal! Gervonta Davis and Floyd Mayweather have been beefing for quite a while now, taking shots at each other every chance they get! So, ‘Billboard Hot 100’ rapper Mase has proposed “a plan” during his appearance in a podcast! What’s the plan, you ask?

A fight, of course—a fight between five-division champion Floyd Mayweather and WBA lightweight champion and Mayweather’s former protege Gervonta Davis. Just like Mase’s guest appearances in the ‘Mo Money Mo Problems’ and ‘Been Around the World’ peaked on ‘Billboard Hot 100’, a fight between Davis and Mayweather could peak in the boxing world.

Mase claims ‘Tank’ Davis will be the B-Side

While appearing in the ‘It is What It Is’ podcast today, Mase and the host of the show Cam’ron Giles talked about the ongoing beef between the former promoter and boxer duo. It’s worth mentioning that after Floyd indirectly took shots at Davis a while ago, the latter started rumors about Floyd being stuck in Dubai because of unpaid dues. In return, Mayweather, on a couple of occasions claimed Davis’ fight against Frank Martin was canceled, among other things.

Seeing the two squabble over their differences, Mase suggested, “If Floyd is acting like a su*ker, I got a plan. Listen, fight each other, I’m putting that on the table.” Claiming such a fight would help put their differences aside, the rapper proposed a five or six-round fight. However, Mase feels, “This will be the first time ‘Tank’ [has] to be the [B-Side],” regardless of what people think or believe.

Floyd Mayweather, who is literally boxing royalty both in terms of fame and fortune, is 47 at the moment while Davis, who is widely regarded as the current face of boxing, is 29. So, is such a fight even possible? Let’s find out!

Floyd Mayweather vs. Gervonta Davis: Reality or fleeting dream?

A cross-generational fight between Floyd and Gervonta isn’t impossible, especially after the traction the fight between Jake Paul and Mike Tyson has managed to gain. Even better, Floyd is much younger than Tyson, and often appears in exhibition bouts, sometimes taking on younger opponents. Mayweather is even primed to face John Gatti III in a rematch in August, so why not Davis?

Despite retiring, Mayweather has stayed active, and knowing the kind of cash this fight can generate, he shouldn’t have any issues with it. However, there’s one problem that may hinder the fight from happening. The fact that Mayweather is all about winning and Davis is all about winning! Despite Mayweather’s acumen in the sport, there’s a good chance Davis could win, which might be a risk Mayweather is unwilling to take. 

Regardless of the ‘whats’ and ‘ifs’, if the fight happens as Mase proposed, it will be the biggest attraction that can sell arenas, and PPVs like no other.
