Tyson Fury put in a dominant performance earlier this year in his bout against Deontay Wilder. It ended in the 7th round after ‘The Bronze Bomber’s corner threw the towel in. Subsequently, he activated his rematch clause. The move surprised many including his opponent as Wilder had been dominated throughout the bout.

“I was surprised he took the fight because it was a one-sided fight. He didn’t win a single second of that second fight,”  said Tyson Fury.

Wilder has been very actively commenting on the bout too and went on to claim that he wasn’t at his best. He said, “Tyson Fury knows that wasn’t me. I know that wasn’t me. Everyone in boxing knows that wasn’t the real Deontay Wilder.”

“Keep letting your self down Deontay Wilder, it’s sad, It was you I smashed that’s the truth. Just admit it and move on. It’s just a fight you win some you lose some. That’s boxing pal.”

The duo have faced each other twice with their first bout held in 2018. This was the only time Tyson Fury did not win in his professional career as the bout ended in a split draw. With ‘The Bronze Bomber’ injured and having undergone surgery after the February bout, it does lend weight to his theory of not being a hundred percent.

He is currently recovering from bicep surgery and will resume training for the trilogy in May. The planned date for the Fury vs Wilder 3 fight was in July. However, the Coronavirus pandemic has delayed it. As per an ESPN report, Top Rank CEO Bob Arum says the bout may take place in October.
