Former NFL running backs Adrian Peterson and Le’Veon Bell are set to make their boxing debuts as they face each other on September 10. The pair haven’t crossed paths during their NFL careers, however, the two are now on a collision course as they will dish it out at the Banc of California Stadium in Los Angeles.

Moreover, the fight will be taking place on the undercard of the Social Gloves event headlined by Youtubers Austin McBroom and AnEsonGib. Both athletes will be joining fellow NFL stars Frank Gore and Chad Johnson as they hop on the trend of big-time athletes competing in boxing. So let us take a look at everything you need to know about this matchup.

Adrian Peterson vs. Le’Veon Bell: physical stats

Peterson was a former running back who played the majority of his career for the Minnesota Vikings. He stands at 6 feet 1 inch tall and weighed in at 218 pounds at the weigh-in before the fight. Bell, on the other hand, also stands at 6 feet 1 inch tall but weighed in at 204 pounds. Peterson certainly has the upper hand in terms of physical strength and power. However, Bell is the younger boxer of the two at 30 years old, while Peterson is 38 years old. Coming into the fight, Bell was touted as the favorite by the betting platform draft Kings. Bell is the at -155 favorite and Peterson is the +125 underdog.

Peterson has had a historic career in the NFL and is certainly a future Hall of Famer. In his rookie season, the former Vikings player set the NFL record for the most rushing yards in a single game at 296. He also has a league MVP, an Offensive Rookie of the Year, four All-Pro selections, and seven Pro Bowls.

Adrian Peterson vs. Le’Veon Bell Purse Details

Bell, on the other hand, hasn’t matched the success of his opponent in the NFL. He was drafted by the Pittsburgh Steelers with a second-round pick back in 2013. He is a three-time Pro Bowler and played five seasons with the Steelers. Bell played in eight games last year with Baltimore and Tampa Bay but became a free agent after that.

Due to this being an exhibition bout with no fixed parameters for scoring, it becomes hard to predict the fight. Moreover, the running backs have zero experience competing in boxing, which would have given us an idea heading into the match.

However, Bell is looking like a far more competent fighter due to the age difference. Peterson has suffered multiple injuries to the lower part of his body during his time in the NFL and is far from the physical specimen he was back in the day.
