Adrien Broner will be returning to the boxing ring after over two years in a fight against Pedro Campa. Campa has only lost once in his boxing career, but has a majorly inflated record. His only loss was to journeyman fighter Carlos Jimenez. Broner, on the other hand, is returning after a loss at the hands of Manny Pacquiao in January 2019.
Broner has hyped this bout up and claimed he is making millions of this fight, which many expect him to be a massive favorite for. He also called Campa ‘a dead man’.

“We got more millions to pick up in a couple of weeks y’all. I’ll see y’all in February when I fight a dead man. This is the only time I get to talk because right now I ain’t talking to nobody. I’m losing weight. I told y’all I’ll be rich, and I did it.”

Broner added, “When I’m training and losing weight, you can probably see it in my face, I get rea, real cranky and s***. You never knew that I would turn out to be as good as I’d be. No one did,”

No disrespect to Campa, but Broner is a former welterweight champion. He was last ranked as the fifth-best pound-for-pound fighter in the world, so a fight against someone like Campa is quite odd. However, many do believe that Broner has generated a fair amount of ring rust in his time away from the ring.

Nonetheless, this fight serves as a great way for Broner to just get the feel of the ring again. Whether he can compete at the top of the division is completely unknown right now. He has star value, and he can get people to watch his fights based on that. However, the quality of competition could be better. Hopefully, this fight delivers and Broner doesn’t get left with egg on his face.
