The Floyd Mayweather vs. Deji fight event in Dubai was a complete roller coaster ride for spectators. Fans were disappointed by the fights, but they were clearly stirred up by the several altercations and callouts that took place during the event. Whether it’s Mayweather waiting for Jake Paul to get up from his ringside seat before entering the ring, or a last-minute opponent switch for Tommy Fury. There were so many factors at play, making it a really exciting occasion. However, something quite unexpected occurred when Jake Paul’s teammate Anthony Taylor called Mayweather to schedule a fight.

Anthony Taylor, a teammate of Jake Paul, has adopted a moniker long popularized by boxing legend Floyd Mayweather. The latter has been known to use the term ‘Pretty Boy’ in boxing. But now, even Taylor calls himself by the same nickname. 

Furthermore, Taylor made a bold claim recently by calling out Mayweather for a potential fight. He took to Twitter and wrote, “Let’s be honest… yah might talk sh*t about me but really. I’m the only one who can go in there with @FloydMayweather and drop down to 70kg 154lb and make him actually work. He’s taller and great. But I don’t get bully by nobody with my Peek-a-boo style. Pretty boy vs money 2023”

Mayweather is unlikely to be interested in facing Taylor, as he is a far more established boxer than the latter. However, the fact that ‘Money’ has been competing in exhibition battles against Youtubers and fighters lower than his caliber there might be possibilities of this match-up reaching its fruition.

Anthony Taylor called out Tommy Fury for a battle during the Floyd Mayweather vs. Deji event 

Back in 2021, Tommy Fury defeated Anthony Taylor inside the squared circle. The latter fought ‘Love Island’ star Jack Fincham in an exhibition bout on the Mayweather vs. Deji undercard recently. Following his fight, he took the opportunity to call out Fury for a rematch.  

Taylor called out Tommy and his father John Fury and said, “Check this out, your boy Tommy Fury declined my fight offer three hours before the fight. $1.5million, he declined it, he’s a p***y. John Fury, if you’re out there, bring your a** over here. Tommy get your a** in the gym. I’ll pay your opponent’s fight purse. I ain’t leaving this ring until I fight Tommy Fury, you’re gonna need security to get me out of this ring.”

Taylor obviously wants to improve his reputation within the boxing community. But only time will tell if he ever gets the chance to take on Mayweather or Fury.
