Amid ongoing friction with Floyd Mayweather, Gervonta Davis unveiled a $10 million offer he received from the rival promoter Eddie Hearn for the highly anticipated Ryan Garcia fight. By making this offer public, ‘Tank’ has created major upheavals in the mainstream boxing world. He wanted to show Mayweather how eager other promoters are to work with him.

The southpaw gun is one of the biggest PPV stars in the USA. He is the most promising lightweight with an undefeated streak. He became  a legit threat under the wings of the former five-weight division champ Floyd Mayweather.

But things have changed. The bond between promoter and fighter, which seemed unbreakable, is on the verge of collapsing. Davis gave hints of this before facing Rolly Romero earlier this year. Unfortunately, things have worsened now. ‘Tank’ has asked Mayweather to give him termination papers.

Now, the three-weight class champ is a big fish in the market. Every promoter’s eyes are set on him because he has remarkable fights left in his bag. The most hyped one is his potential clash with longtime rival Ryan Garcia.

Keeping this in mind, Matchroom boxing has offered a $10 million deal to Davis.

Michael Benson reported this on Twitter. He shared Hearn’s offer and wrote, “Gervonta Davis revealing Eddie Hearn offered him a $10 million guarantee (plus PPV bonuses) to do the Ryan Garcia fight with him on DAZN instead.”

This would certainly put Mayweather in a predicament. He did not want to lose Davis because he has contributed a lot to the latter’s progress. The only thing that is creating problems for them is that the duo is not able to reach a common ground where demands could be met.

What offer did Eddie Hearn make to sign Gervonta Davis?

Hearn has offered a $10 million guaranteed purse to Davis if the latter agreed to fight the star lightweight Garcia on DAZN PPV in February or March. The PPV share and the bonus will be agreed upon later.

Hearn is so eager to make this deal happen that he is willing to talk about this with Davis in a face-to-face meeting.

Now it solely depends upon Davis, and how he looks into this.

What is left for Floyd Mayweather?

Mayweather has not had many options left. If he wants Davis to fight under his promotion, he would have to sort out the matter thoroughly. He has to increase Davis’ payday and likely improve his PPV share too.

Davis is a hotspot among boxing promoters, and they understand the worth of an established fighter.
