Anthony Joshua made his return to the boxing ring on April 1, winning his bout against American professional boxer Jermaine Franklin. The former two-time heavyweight champion is focused on being active inside the boxing ring this year. And give the fans what they want. Joshua has shown his eagerness to fight some top names in the heavyweight division. However, it should be noted that Joshua is also in talks with Deontay Wilder for a mega clash in Saudi Arabia in December of this year. But it seems like the former champion wants another challenge to step up his game before the mega-fight in December is confirmed.

Joshua’s promoter, Eddie Hearn, recently opened up about his plan of action for Joshua. And, it seems like before Joshua meets Wilder for the much-anticipated clash in Saudi Arabia, he is looking to fight another opponent. And Hearn revealed an important piece of information to the boxing world about Joshua’s upcoming bout inside the boxing ring.

Anthony Joshua will fight in August

In an interview with BoxingNewsOnline, Eddie Hearn talked about Joshua’s potential fight ahead of the rumored clash against Deontay Wilder. The former heavyweight champion has been clear about his intention to keep fighting  and pave his way back to the top of the heavyweight division.

Hearn said, “We are still waiting for an offer. They tell us that it’s happening, but no offer yet.” It seems like Joshua’s team is waiting for an offer for the Saudi deal but is yet to receive it. Revealing the next potential fight for Joshua, he added, “So we’re focused now on that August date. AJ is back in camp in Texas.”

Hearn revealed that there is a high chance of a fight taking place between Joshua and Dillian Whyte in August. But, he further clarified that there are other names who are in the running to fight the 33-year-old.

Is the Saudi Arabia mega-boxing event happening?

The rumors of a mega boxing event in Saudi Arabia have got fans licking their lips in anticipation. Two of the major fights would supposedly be Deontay Wilder vs AJ and Tyson Fury vs Oleksandr Usyk. However, there has been no confirmation regarding this super-fight yet. Moreover, it should be noted that the rumors have not been denied. But, it seems like the offers are yet to be made to the respective boxers.
