Over the past few months, Jake Paul has disrupted the combat sports world. Right after his win over Nate Robinson, Paul called out some top-tier combats sports stars. He even indulged in a Twitter war with several fighters. But a few days back, Paul broke into the news headlines by launching massive verbal shots at the pound-for-pound king of boxing, Canelo Alvarez.

He termed Canelo as a ‘hater’ and even called him out for a bout. Recently, this news caught the Croatian boxer, Alen Babic’s eye, and he yelled at the ‘Problem Child’ for the same.

In a conversation with iFL TV, he said:

“Canelo’s been through to be where he is right now. Jake Paul is a man in his top in YouTubing and I respect him for that. I would never call out Jake Paul in YouTube. I have like 30,000 (subscribers) and he has what 30 million. So I’m respectful of that part, but he should be more respectful of boxing.”

“Don’t call out Canelo bro. What the f**k!”

After his win over Avni Yildirim, Canelo was in a post-fight interview, wherein he asked a couple of Jake Paul fans to leave the stage. This left the YouTuber turned boxer red hot, and he didn’t wait long to mock the Mexican boxer.

However, Alen Babic feels Canelo is the undeniable face of modern boxing and has earned his respect on the back of a stellar career that is still going strong.

Is Jake Paul a true ‘bad boy’ of the sport?

Over so many decades, boxing has seen many bad boys coming up and captivating the audience towards themselves. From Rocky Graziano to Mike Tyson, the list of bad boys of the sport goes on.

With his antics and unprecedented trash talks, the ‘Problem Child’ is turning into a true bad boy of the game. Despite having just 2 fights/wins, the young gun has amassed vast stardom and glory.

Furthermore, he’ll enter the boxing ring on April 17 to touch gloves with his rival, Ben Askren, for his third bout. The former UFC star was on Paul’s checklist of fighters, and he got his wish.

It’ll be interesting to see how Paul fares on the fight night against a professional fighter. It will be interesting to see if the 24-year-old calls out Canelo if he wins or pays heed to Babic.
