British promoter Eddie Hearn has a way with words. Fans know the promoter for his ecstatic and unbothered interviews. But sometimes, such qualities can prove to be against you. The Matchroom promoter witnessed another of his boxers deciding to part ways with the promotion. The former light heavyweight champion Joshua Buatsi has parted ways with Matchroom. But the separation does not seem to be amicable as one would expect it to be. Since the separation, Buatsi hasn’t held back from taking shots at the British promoter and venting his emotions regarding Matchroom.

According to reports, despite having a luscious offer from Matchroom, Buatsi decided to leave and recently signed with a new promotion. Since his decision, the boxing world has gone wild, pouring their reactions worldwide.

A bitter ending for Hearn and Buatsi

In an interview with Boxing Social, Buatsi revealed the offer Eddie Hearn had lined up for him. Eddie Hearn offered the former champ more than £1 million to fight Dmitry Bivol in a fight for his light heavyweight title. But Buatsi further revealed what the conditions were for him to sign the deal for the fight.

Reportedly, In order to fight Bivol, he had to sign a contract extension with Matchroom for 2 to 3 years. He said, “What were the caveats? You end up signing an extension of another 2/3 years at a channel you don’t wanna be on.” The 30-year-old boxer further took a dig at Hearn and added, ” This guy will say anything he wants to say. I couldn’t care less.”Since he departed from Matchroom, Buatsi has signed a deal with Boxxer.

Joshua Buatsi has been in the quest for a shot at the title, but he claims Matchroom promised him that shot, but it never worked to fruition. Hearn has recently been in the headlines because of the Conor Benn drug test controversy. A former title contender took shots at Hearn and claimed he was responsible for Benn’s relief from the accusations.
