Her last boxing match against Nina Meinke didn’t pan out the way Amanda Serrano wanted –  it didn’t happen, to be specific. At the very last moment before the fight, she was declared unfit because of an eye injury. However, she might have spotted an opportunity to make it up to her fans through an MMA bout against former rival Heather Hardy.

‘The Heat’ Hardy and ‘The Real Deal’ Serrano went toe-to-toe twice in the square ring! Once in September 2019, which Serrano won via unanimous decision. And the second bout transpired in August last year, producing the same result. However, since Serrano signed with PFL in August last year, she can now participate in MMA bout, which caught Hardy’s attention recently as she called out the undisputed queen. More importantly, Serrano responded on social media.

Turning to X (formerly Twitter), Serrano shared a screengrab of Hardy’s callout on Instagram. Alongside the picture, Serrano claimed, “I’m already being challenged for my @PFLMMA appearance by none other than @HeatherHardyBox.” Despite having immense respect for one another, Serrano believes Hardy is itching to secure a win over her.

“I know she has more MMA experience than I do & as much Love & Respect as we have for each other, she wants to get that win over me,” wrote Serrano. She goes on to suggest that, as per her evaluations, the fight would be “50/50, but I’m sure she feels otherwise. Let’s see how it pans out, Heat.”

It’s worth mentioning that Serrano has dipped her toes in MMA before and has a record of 2-0-1. Meanwhile, Hardy has managed to build up a 2-2-0 record in MMA. What’s more, Hardy even responded to Serrano’s tweet.

Serrano could help Heather Hardy finish her career with a bang

After Serrano reacted to Hardy’s callout, Hardy returned the favor by reacting to Serrano’s tweet hours later. Reflecting on their last two fights, Hardy stated, “Ya beat me twice in boxing, all hail the queen, I HANG MY HAT ON THAT! But come see me in the cage, little sis.” However, this fight will have to wait as Hardy will be busy fighting Christine Ferea in BKFC 61 on May 11.

Regardless, a fight against former rival Serrano is too tempting for Hardy to just pass by. So, she continued, “Let’s have a real fight for the fans. I know you need an opponent. So, my dream for the last year of my career is three sports! Bare-knuckle, MMA & back to boxing.” If Serrano accepts the fight offer, it will complete Hardy’s dream to fight in all three styles of combat sports in the final year of her career.
