Jake Paul is just fresh off one of the most impressive wins of his career. In the highly awaited rematch between Tyron Woodley and ‘The Problem Child’, Paul knocked ‘The Chosen One’ out in the sixth round. The knockout was so clean that the former UFC welterweight champion was out on his feet.

The entire fight was very uneventful up until the 6th round when Paul pulled off a textbook boxing move. After dipping his shoulder to fake a body shot, he pulled his hook up and connected flush on the temple in one swift movement. Once that punch hit, Woodley fell to the canvas and did not get up for a couple of minutes.

Following this impressive highlight-reel knockout, DDG took to his Twitter to compare Paul to Mayweather. “Jake Paul the closest thing we got to floyd mayweather at this point,” DDG said in a tweet.

Mayweather is one of the most tactically gifted boxers. Fans and experts alike agree that he is one of the greatest pugilists to ever live.

So naturally, any comparisons to ‘Money’ Mayweather will not be taken lightly by his fans as the five-division world champion did not suffer a single loss in a 21-year professional career

Paul, on the other hand, has fought only 5 times in his professional boxing career. Hence, comparing him to Mayweather does not make sense so early on in his career.

Twitter reacts to DDG comparing Jake Paul to Floyd Mayweather

Fans did not take his comments seriously and many of them were not happy with what they read.

One Twitter user said, “He just beat a 40 year old retired ufc fighter , has never fought and beat a real boxer. Look at all his opponents that he picks, he knows it’s easy wins. He’s nowhere near mayweathers level. The closest person to another mayweather is canelo so wtf are you talking about.”
