Jake Paul is a man of action — never one to back down or let critics slide. Since the start of his boxing career, ‘The Problem Child’ has faced constant accusations of fights being “staged” or “fixed.” One of the loudest voices came from journalist Piers Morgan, who openly questioned the legitimacy of Paul’s bout against Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. Paul’s response? A threat to sue.

The move quickly pressured Morgan into walking back his comments. By August, the Daily Mail reported that Paul had even hired powerhouse attorney Alex Spiro — whose clients include Elon Musk and Jay-Z — to pursue lawsuits against similar claims. But now, the tables may be turning. Instead of dishing out legal threats, Paul could soon find himself on the receiving end of one.

Gervonta Davis can end up suing Jake Paul

Less than a week ago, the 28-year-old YouTube star-turned-boxer uploaded a clip on Instagram. At first glance, it looked like a standard face-off between him and Gervonta Davis ahead of their November 14th exhibition fight at the Kaseya Center in Miami, live on Netflix. But the twist came quickly — it wasn’t real. The clip turned out to be an AI-generated video that showed the pair kissing shortly after the clip began.

Paul leaned into the trolling, captioning the post, “Send to your lover,” and adding an on-screen message for Davis. “No matter what they say, I’ll always love you spanky tanky <3.” The stunt didn’t sit well with rapper Boosie BadAzz, real name Torrence Hatch Jr., who urged Davis to take legal action against Paul and AI companies immediately. “SUE THEM TANK N DONT LET UP‼️EVERY AI COMPANY N EVERYONE SITE THAT POSTS IT‼️THIS IS FUCKING SICK THIS MAN GOT KIDS,” Hatch Jr. raged on X.

Davis could have legal avenues. The TAKE IT DOWN Act makes it a felony to knowingly publish non-consensual intimate depictions, including AI-generated deepfakes, if intended to cause harm. It also allows victims to sue for damages. While the law usually covers explicit content, courts may stretch its definition to cover implied intimacy like kissing. Meanwhile, the DEFIANCE Act (2024) — which permits civil suits for non-consensual sexually explicit deepfakes — could also apply if Davis proves reputational harm and lack of consent.

Regardless, officially, Jake Paul seems to view Gervonta Davis very differently!

Paul claims Davis is the toughest test of his career

In the upcoming exhibition, Jake Paul will carry a clear size advantage over Gervonta Davis, given the weight classes they usually compete in. Paul is a natural cruiserweight, while Davis has spent his career as a natural lightweight. So, the exhibition is being held at a catchweight of 195 pounds — nearly 60 pounds above Davis’ usual division.

Despite the physical edge, Paul isn’t underestimating his opponent. “This is a Top 10 pound-for-pound fighter,” Paul said at their press conference in New York, acknowledging Davis’ elite status. For Paul, who has yet to earn full respect after wins over aging stars, this fight feels different. “This is definitely the toughest test,” he admitted.

Regardless of how Jake Paul actually views Gervonta Davis, his stunt with the AI video seems to have drawn the ire of Boosie BadAzz. However, whether Davis feels the same way is yet to be seen. What do you think Davis should do?
