Amid Balenciaga Scandal, Former Champion Rips Into Will Smith-Chris Rock Slapgate Critics

The 94th Academy Awards were a thrilling experience for movie aficionados due to the wide range of films receiving accolades for their work. But something had gotten more press coverage than the awards. The show’s host, Chris Rock, is reported of receiving a slap from Hollywood great Will Smith after making a joke about Smith’s wife. In light of the contentious Balenciaga advertisement, former boxing champion Caleb Plant recently brought up the Oscars incident. Take a look at what he had to say.

Caleb Plant is a former super middleweight IBF champion. The Tennessee native recently took to Twitter to share his opinion about the Balenciaga controversy which is causing a stir in the news. Plant wrote, “All those celebrities who were outraged for weeks about Will Smith smacking Chris Rock and how it was unacceptable but you don’t hear near as much from them about Balenciaga.”

The French fashion business Balenciaga has an excellent international clientele. Despite that, two of their advertising efforts received criticism as a result of their inappropriate branding. It depicted young kids posing with teddy bear-shaped bags that weren’t really pertinent.

The teddy bears had several improper characteristics, such as scarred eyes. Since then, the brand has been under fire as a result of the controversy this has caused. Even Kim Kardashian admitted that she is rethinking her partnership with Balenciaga.

Plant is an accomplished boxer with a great 22-1-0 record. Canelo Alvarez, a Mexican boxing superstar, delivered his lone career defeat in 2021. Since then, Plant hasn’t competed in the ring, but in October, he stunned everyone by defeating Anthony Dirrell. Fans have been eager to watch the former champion back in action again.

Reportedly, Plant is expected to go up against David Benavidez in an upcoming match. Fans have been anticipating this fight for quite some time now. Interestingly, the winner of this clash will get a chance to fight Canelo Alvarez for his WBC super middleweight belt.
