British boxing star Amir Khan shockingly revealed that he may call it quits on his glittering career. Khan last fought in July, claiming the vacant WBA international welterweight title against Billy Dib.
Khan has had an illustrious rise to the top winning several titles over the course of his illustrious career, despite his achievements Britain’s boxing prodigy feels it’s time to call it a day.

“I’m up against myself. I’m debating with myself should I carry on or call it a day?. I’ll  just  wait and see how I feel after a full training camp. Even if I feel I cannot do it anymore, I can walk away knowing I have done everything. My love for boxing is still there and I love boxing to bits. But until I see how I feel after a long, hard, grueling camp, then I won’t know for sure.” Said Khan

“Win or lose, i’ve always fought at the top level”-Amir Khan

Amir has prided himself at fighting at the very top level. With memorable fights against Canelo Alvarez and Terence Crawford a testament to his ability irrespective of the result.

“I want to be at the top level where I’ve always fought. That’s where I belong and that’s how I want people to remember me. Win or lose, I’ve always fought at that top level. I’m only interested in fighting at that level. You can make mistakes when you try to carry on for too long and don’t call it a day. I’ll know myself when it’s time to stop.” said Amir

Khan has certainly left his mark in the sport. From his trademark punches to his various title wins, he has certainly given us boxing fans a lot of joy over the span of his career. With his family in mind and his well being a priority, it may be time for him to step away from the ring.

Amir Khan will always  be remembered as one of the best British boxers to step inside the ring. And with several business ventures outside boxing , we can only hope he replicates his success with his other endeavors.
