Does the former unified light-welterweight champion Amir Khan have any plans of coming out of retirement? Well, the answer is simple: it is going to take a boatload of money to convince him to enter into the squared circle. Khan retired from boxing after being knocked out by Kell Brooks in February 2022. However, following his retirement, he did want to pursue a possible showdown with eight-division world champion Manny Pacquiao in Saudi Arabia. But, sadly for him, it was a dead-end street. Therefore, he shifted his focus to the influencer boxing scene. Safe to say, he wants to give these social media celebrities an education on the ‘Sweet Science’. And, he is gunning for the reigning champion of influencer boxing, ‘The Nightmare’ KSI.

Recently, at the Social Knockout 3 event in Dubai, Khan said that a potential bout against KSI would be a big “mismatch”, nonetheless, he wanted to hurt influencers like him in the ring because “they talk more than they can chew.” But, he pointed out that there wasn’t any progress in fight negotiations as “his team just gone quiet”. Lately, in an interview with IFL TV, Khan reiterated that the situation with KSI remains the same.

An impasse in negotiations!

Addressing the rumors about the fight with KSI, he told the media that “there is a lot of truth in it”, but KSI’s team “didn’t get back to us” which led to a breakdown in negotiations. Nonetheless, if a lucrative offer were on the table again, he wouldn’t mind taking it up. “I did say, I consider giving him a beating, no problem. Then his team just went quiet. So, I left it there, that’s it. It is what it is,” Khan said calmly.

However, Khan did say that he wouldn’t come out of retirement to fight any professional boxers. But he was up for it if any influencers wanted to throw down with him.

“I have talked about KSI, Logan Paul, and all that. If they need a battering I don’t mind giving them a battering. But, do I go into the ring against another professional fighter, I don’t know. They are not professionals. They are not proper fighters. o give them a little bit of a beating will be quite easy, do you know what I mean….”

Meanwhile. KSI’s manager Mams Taylor has a completely different take on the KSI-Amir Khan fight talks. He claimed earlier this month that it was in fact Amir’s team who “ghosted” them, but negotiations were underway again as they are “literally working on the fight for later in the year.” On the other hand, KSI’s biggest rival Jake Paul called him a “joke” for not showing the willingness to fight him.

Is KSI a serious fighter?

On August 31st, KSI will be stepping into the ring with Slim Albaher and former MMA contender Anthony Taylor in a bizarre 1 vs. 2 “tag-team” boxing match. This has made Jake Paul question ‘The Nightmare’s’ commitment to the sport. “He has been a joke in the sport since day one. I said before the Gib fight that he would never fight me. And that still holds true. He is doing this WWE tag team boxing and that’s not what I am here to do. I am here to become a world champion,” Paul told FightHype.

Meanwhile, Jake Paul’s manager Nakisa Bidarian alleged that KSI’s manager going public with the details of the fight negotiations between the two influencers, made it difficult for him to do business with him.

“Jake Paul-KSI is a great fight. I think it’s an exciting fight. But it’s gonna be on terms that makes sense in the background between ourselves, DAZN, and Wasserman,” Bidarian had stated.

Will KSI ever step into the ring against Jake Paul or Amir Khan? Do chime in with your predictions.
