Former unified super-middleweight champion Andre Ward left an indelible mark on the world of boxing with his illustrious career. The Olympic Gold medalist was known for his exceptional skills, unbeaten record. Moreover, his ability to adapt to any opponent made him one of the sport’s one of all-time greats.
Despite this, renowned boxing trainer Robert Garcia feels that current contender David Benavidez would have gotten the better of Ward if the two ever fought in their prime. Benavidez is touted as one of the best boxers in the super-middleweight division. He is also been picked by many to have the best chance of dethroning Canelo Alvarez.

“I think (David) Benavidez would have got him but it wouldn’t have been easy. I like Benavidez because of his style. He puts on too much pressure, he’s got tremendous heart, he takes a punch, he keeps coming and Ward, I don’t think he would have held him back” he said.
The undefeated boxer has gained quite the notoriety following his win over Caleb Plant. In addition, he is most likely to get a title shot against Alvarez and could become an undisputed champion, a feat Ward was not able to achieve. However, ‘Son Of God’ found this take rather amusing as he reacted with confidence rather than taking offense.
