The realm of recognizes Reynoso as one of the best trainers out there. He boasts of training the best in the business at present, including Middleweight premier Canelo Alvarez. Those under his training also include Lightweight prodigy Ryan Garcia, Julio Cesar Martinez, Oscar Valdez, Frank Sanchez, and Luis Nery.
Reynoso is regarded by many as the finest cornermen in today’s generation. He was the recipient of the 2019 Boxing Writers Association of America Trainer of the Year award.
In April itself, the trainer said he would love to train Andy Ruiz Jr. But only as long as there was discipline, something with the lack of which Ruiz is known to suffer. Reynoso said,
“We’re ready to work with any fighter. It would also be an honor to work with the first heavyweight champion of Mexican descent.”
Why did Andy Ruiz Jr. split with his former trainer, Manny Roble?
“The Destroyer” was riding a career-high when he beat Anthony Joshua to become the WBA, IBA, WBO, and IBO belts in June 2109. But, as he himself admits, his trip on cloud number nine became his shortcoming.

He would show the least interest in training, at times not showing up at all. His diet stopped mattering to him, and he would eat anything and everything he wanted.
This attitude ultimately became his downfall. Joshua exercised his contractual right to a rematch, and the two met again in December. Joshua reclaimed all titles he had earlier lost out to Ruiz.

As for Ruiz, the loss became his point of separation with his former coach, Manny Roble. Ruiz was aware of the fact that his lack of stamina and overall training was his own faults. Looking to change the way he trains and get the graph his career pointing upwards again, Ruiz and Roble parted ways.
Do you think that Andy Ruiz Jr. will ride towards success again under Eddy Reynoso’s lead?
