Following this, his father, Andres Ruiz, revealed his son’s plans for the future. In an interview with ‘Izquierdazo’, he stated that Ruiz Jr. wanted to compete against Deontay Wilder, and Oleksandr Usyk, while also completing his trilogy against Anthony Joshua.

“Andy has some good fights left. Fury, the trilogy with Joshua, Usyk, Wilder and retiring with those fights, that’s what we want to do,” said Andres Ruiz Sr. Ruiz became the heavyweight champion after his shocking victory over Anthony Joshua, handing the British boxer his first-ever loss. However, ‘AJ’ sought his revenge in the rematch winning via unanimous decision.

Ruiz has only competed once since his loss to AJ, beating Otiz last month. He will now look to carry that momentum to face tougher competition before retiring from boxing.

Deontay Wilder has a cryptic message for Andy Ruiz Jr.

Wilder recently responded to Ruiz Jr. calling him out for a fight. The Bronze Bomber made an appearance on The Last Stand Podcast with Brian Custer and had a cryptic message for the Mexican. “I’m always confident in myself … I’m looking forward to having a fight with Ruiz, for sure. And upon that (the fight being finalized) I’ll reveal some things to him that he didn’t know. I’ve blessed him already before. He don’t even know this. But I’ll reveal it to him,” said Wilder.

This was an interesting message by Wilder, as the two have never competed in the ring before. However, he still claimed that he has ‘blessed’ him before. Regardless of what Wilder meant, the two could very well face off in the future. But before that, Wilder needs to beat his next opponent, Robert Helenius, who he will face on October 15th at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn.
