Ruiz Jr. shows off his slim look ahead of his next fight

Ahead of his fight on September 4th, the former heavyweight champion looked slim and bruised up as he uploaded a video on his Instagram account with the caption.”Trust The Process! 33 more days until my fight”

Ruiz is training along with his trainer and looked considerably slimmer than he has ever been. The Mexican boxer was notorious for being overweight and was often referred to as ‘fat’ but just like his inspiration, Tyson Fury he is focused and worked to get in shape for his next fight and start the path to reclaiming the heavyweight championship once again.

Ruiz Jr. reached the pinnacle of the heavyweight division after his surprising victory over fellow heavyweight boxer Anthony Joshua and earning the heavyweight championship. However, his glory was short-lived as he lost to the British boxer in their rematch. Since then Ruiz Jr. has only competed in the ring once back in 2021 with a victory over Chris Arreola. He also underwent surgery on his right knee in August 2021.

Ortiz, on the other hand, is on a two-fight win streak after his loss against Deontay Wilder, with wins over Alexander Flores and Charles Martin. This is a chance for both fighters to get back into title contention, as the victor will certainly move a step forward for a shot at heavyweight gold.
