Unified heavyweight champion, Anthony Joshua, has excited fans with his latest announcement on Sunday. The Englishman gave an update on the Tyson Fury fight and revealed the timeline. Moreover, he also spoke highly of ‘The Gypsy King’.

Joshua and Fury have been close to agreeing on a two-fight deal for weeks. Despite the constant updates from both camps, there is still no official announcement. ‘AJ’ has now taken the chance to give an update on the bout.

The Londoner spoke to JD Sports on a TikTok live, which Michael Benson caught onto. Joshua said, “June should be the date. Trust me. For the fans, for the people that have been calling it on for many months.”

Furthermore, the Londoner then spoke highly of his fellow champion, Tyson Fury, and his camp. “Shoutout to Fury and his team as well, hungry go-getters, that’s what we are. UK stand up. I can’t wait. Undisputed.”
Thus, this comment gave an insight into how negotiations are going between the camps.

These comments from Anthony Joshua will surprise Tyson Fury
Though ‘AJ’ showed his confidence in the event happening in June with his comments, the same can’t be said about his potential opponent, Fury. ‘The Gypsy King’ has cast his doubt over the event and said he’s not optimistic.
Moreover, the fact that Joshua showed Fury and his camp respect will also surprise the 6’9” heavyweight. Recently, Fury accused Joshua of not wanting the fight, and as per him, that’s the only reason they have not announced it yet.

‘AJ’ was right in saying this a fight that the fans have called for, for months. Ever since his victory over Kubrat Pulev, this is the only fight boxing fans have craved for. However, it now appears that the fans wanting it could be the decisive factor in making it happen.
