Anthony Joshua Explains ‘the Big Difference’ Between Him and Dwayne ‘the Rock’ Johnson

Athletes are known to rule the hearts of their fans all around the world. The notoriety is exponentially huge because of the global fame they earned through their talents and skills. As such, the former heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua is a global phenomenon as he has inspired fans worldwide, but most of his fans are limited to the world of boxing.

Recently, during an interview, Joshua explained the difference between him and the WWE and Hollywood superstar Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson.

What is the difference between Anthony Joshua and Dwayne Johnson?

Ahead of his rematch against Oleksandr Usyk, Anthony Joshua sat down for an interview with JD Sports. During the interview, Joshua was asked whether he feels his life was under a microscope at all times. The British boxer responded by paralleling his life with ‘The Rock‘.

He said, “I can only imagine what it’s like being The Rock or someone, you know what I mean.” Furthermore, he claimed that there is a huge difference between the boxer and the WWE star. He said, “There is a big difference. So you bring the Rock to Loughborough University. What do you think is gonna happen?”

The boxer was hinting at the huge difference in popularity between The Rock and himself. The Rock is a global celebrity who has been in the limelight for 2 decades. This makes his reach and popularity exponentially larger than that of Joshua.

Additionally, the former heavyweight champion answered the same question by stating that he wouldn’t change things for the time being to accommodate everyone if he can’t be true to himself. He said, “For me personally, it’s where I feel comfortable and where I can be myself.”

Following an upsetting performance, Anthony Joshua will have his eyes set on turning things around this time, and he will get his chance to do so on August 20, 2022, in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. The British fighter was totally outclassed by the Ukrainian as he extended his undefeated record to 19-0.

On the other hand, Oleksandr Usyk will do his best to replicate the masterclass performance that won him the unified heavyweight title. Regardless of the outcome, boxing fans are in for a nail-biting performance from the fighters.
