Anthony Joshua Makes Bold Promise; Compares Tyson Fury Fight to Mayweather-Pacquiao

This year, the boxing fans would have witnessed the biggest and perhaps the most entertaining heavyweight fight of the modern era between Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury. The pair were all set to fight each other out for all the heavyweight titles on the line, but unfortunately, this contest failed to materialize.
However, the unified champ, Joshua, is still hungry to book this fight. In his fresh interaction with Mail Sport, ‘AJ’ expressed his true notions about the Tyson Fury fight. He even compared this bout to the ‘richest’ boxing fight in history, between Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather.
He said, “I’ll promise before the end of my career I’ll have done everything in my power to fight Tyson Fury. Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao – that was a superstar fight. Me and Fury is streets. We’ll get it on in Britain. This is a UK fight.” (h/t Michael Benson)

Right after Joshua secured a win over Kubrat Pulev in December 2020, the only fight he wanted next was a 12-round slugfest with his compatriot. Both their teams worked day in and day out to stage this contest in the biggest possible ways.
Joshua vs Fury was also set to take place on August 14 in Saudi Arabia. But later, because of some external factors, things fell through. However, based on Joshua’s comments, this bout will happen.
