Tyson Fury has been on the sidelines for quite some time now. The WBC Heavyweight Champion of the world has not stepped inside the boxing ever since his emphatic TKO win over the then-undefeated Deontay Wilder.
While the world awaits the Gypsy King’s return, it is likely going to be in the form of epic showdown against the winner of the Kubrat Pulev vs Anthony Joshua fight. However, AJ feels otherwise.
“It’s interesting because I just look at the two of their career paths. When I look at Fury, great talent. But I don’t know whether he is coming or going.

“I don’t know if he is going to fight Wilder, or if he’s not going to fight Wilder. If he’s going to fight Kabayel, not fight Kabayel. He announced he was fighting me and the deal had been signed and we are not fighting,” Joshua said.

Tyson Fury has been teasing his return for quite some time now. After declining to fight Deontay Wilder to seal their trilogy series, Fury called out German boxer Agit Kabayel.
However, the bout never saw the light of the day, and Fury remains without an opponent. Meanwhile, former cruiserweight champion Oleksandr Usyk has set his eyes straight on the heavyweight gold.
“Then I got Usyk, who seems to just be straight. You hear he is fighting Chisora, he fights him. You hear he is fighting Witherspoon, he fights him. I got people who are serious. If Fury is serious and keen. The fight will happen.”
Anthony Joshua to take on Oleksandr Usyk next?
Usyk is the current mandatory WBO heavyweight challenger and is coming off an incredible win over boxing veteran Derek Chisora.
He has stated that he wants to fight for the title next. He further added that either Joshua should vacate the title or fight him for the unified gold.

“I don’t know what will happen in 2021. But if I was to bet all my money on it, it’s on Usyk because he is with Matchroom. Straightforward fight and his track record shows that when he says he’s is gonna fight someone, he does.”

Anthony Joshua might not be too keen on vacating the WBO gold. In such a situation there’s every reason to believe that he could take on Usyk next, should he triumph over Kubrat Pulev next weekend.
Only time will tell what lies ahead for the heavyweight division in 2021.
