It was an intense and close heavyweight showdown between Zhilei Zhang and Devin Vargas until the former landed the big shot in round number four. Both the boxers appeared competitive right from the outset and connected with some massive shots. However, Zhang departed with the final laugh as he secured the win with an impressive knockout.

The outcome could have been different with Vargas dominating the contest on certain occasions. Yet, Zhang had a different game plan on his mind and was too quick for his American adversary. Having secured the win no.22 of his pro career (17 KOs), Zhilei Zhang is an A-listed heavyweight at this point. Thus, he can meet the top-gunners of the division soon.

Zhilei Zhang takes out Devin Vargas with a beautiful combination

The heavyweight matchup had its flow broken when Zhang countered Varga’s left jab with a beautiful 1-2 combination. At the beginning of the fourth-round, Vargas attacked Zhang with a couple of shots. However, the 37-year-old was ready with the answers.

He defended himself from Varga’s left jab and planted a beautiful right and left hook to floor his opponent. It seemed that Vargas would get back to his feet. However, the shots were too brutal for that. Despite putting on a lot of effort, Vargas failed to make it back to his feet as the referee waved off the fight.
