Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury have been considered to be arch-nemeses and perfect opponents for each other for several years. A heavyweight clash between them would have been a spectacular sight. However, Joshua has now lost his titles twice, and no longer falls in a similar bracket with the undefeated WBC champion Tyson Fury.

While Joshua is seeking a date to rematch Oleksandr Usyk for his lost heavyweight belts, Fury will put his WBC title up for grabs against Dillian Whyte on April 23 at the Wembley Arena in the UK. In such a situation, Anthony Joshua has backed his old rival Dillian Whyte to knock out Tyson Fury.

AJ had stopped Whyte in an intriguing clash back in 2015. Now, he wants Whyte to become a world champion. However, AJ still didn’t trash talk Tyson Fury. Joshua connected with Dereck Chisora and Michelle Joy Phelps of ‘Behind The Gloves’ to talk about it.

Well, Tyson Fury has always kept a different approach from what AJ showed. Fury has relentlessly trolled his heavyweight counterpart. Be it Anthony Joshua, Deontay Wilder, Oleksandr Usyk, or Dillian Whyte, none could escape from Fury’s trash talking. That said, Whyte actually has the chance to be the first man to beat Tyson Fury.

Tyson Fury seems invincible at this stage

Fresh from a TKO victory over Deontay Wilder in October 2021, Tyson Fury is now the kingpin of the entire division. Although Oleksandr Usyk holds most of the world titles, he is yet to dominate the entire division like Fury did. Meanwhile, a potential fight between Fury and AJ has also been jeopardized in this situation.

Unless Joshua regains his bets, he cannot challenge Fury. Even if he does, AJ will still look like an underdog before Tyson Fury. But if Dillian Whyte can snatch away Fury’s undefeated aura and the WBC belt, it will intensify the entire weight category. So, we are at a very interesting turn, where the division can have several outcomes onboard.
