Anthony Joshua reveals how he stays fit

‘AJ’ engages in regular day-to-day exercises that common people do.

“So you know with boxing, why I chose boxing when I was younger. Because it’s a sport where you don’t really need much. So you need to keep fit. The reason why we do road work is to keep our legs going in the late round. A run of 45 minutes to an hour is perfect. In the UK the guidelines are, exercise outside your house to an hour. That’s why sometimes I go cycling or I go running. And then I shadow box in the garden.”

‘AJ’ says this is a lost art of boxing and reveals that it is something he loves doing.

“I’ve been able to rekindle my love for the art shadow boxing. Concentrating the twelve rounds.  So by the time this is over I should be the shadow boxing Champion of the world. Cause that’s the thing I’m working on and little things like burpees, press-ups, spot jumps, natural body exercises.”

‘AJ’ will have a mandatory defense against Kubrat Pulev. It was supposed to take place on June 20 at the Tottenham Hotspur stadium. However, it is postponed and will be held at a later date.

Britain is the fifth-worst affected country. They are showing no signs of relaxing the lockdown. Sporting activities will be affected. But ‘AJ’ seems confident that his home workouts will hold him in good stead as he seeks to build on his monumental triumph last December.
