Practice will be the watchword for the former heavyweight champion, Anthony Joshua, as he gets to take on the reigning champion, Oleksandr Usyk, in the much-awaited rematch. As per the contract, boxing speculators believe that the rematch will be in April 2022.

Prior to the fight, two-time world champion Joshua has claimed that the table is going to turn on Usyk. As of now, Joshua has pivoted on taking back all belts and ruling the boxing world as a three-time heavyweight champion.

AJ’s tweet that surfaced and grasp public attention is creating hype for the upcoming rematch. He tweeted, “Next fight I’m going to beat him and I’m going to take those belts from him. I’m going to reign again to become three-time heavyweight champion of the world, whether people like it or not.”

Along with the tweets, AJ is constantly posting his practice videos sweating a lot in the gym. Apart from this, he is practicing under the guidance of boxing stalwart, Floyd Mayweather, which speaks volumes about the importance of the next battle.

Anthony Joshua vs Oleksandr Usyk’s previous fight

This unified epic title clash for WBA(super), IBF, WBO, and IBO heavyweight was fought in the jam-packed Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London. Before the fight, AJ was the first favorite and the Ukrainian boxer Oleksandr Usyk was hailing into the ring as a heavy underdog.

From the opening round, Joshua became an easy target for the southpaw. Usyk emerged as a superior boxer at the end of the fight, outwitting the champion.

Usyk’s lead foot remained on the outside of Joshua’s and pushed latter into his base. Adding to great coordination of movements ‘The Cat’ made it difficult for AJ to hit him with strong blows. However, Joshua fought back with experienced professional moves but was not as quick and accurate in landing as Usyk.

Despite the height and weight disadvantage, Usyk dominated throughout the fight with straight jab-cross combinations. AJ tried his hard, but the former Olympic gold medalist Usyk surpassed him with amazing speed and stamina. Heavyweight bouncing around for 12 rounds was insane.
