Anthony Joshua and Kubrat Pulev will take on each other for the unified heavyweight championship next weekend on December 12 inside the O2 Arena in London. AJ will defend the IBF, WBO, and WBA (Super) heavyweight gold against mandatory IBF challenger Kubrat Pulev.

The Bulgarian boxer boasts an incredible record of 28-1 with the sole loss coming against the former heavyweight kingpin, Wladimir Klitschko, back in November 2014. He has picked up eight consecutive victories since then with notable wins over the likes of Samuel Peter and Dereck Chisora.

Next weekend, when Anthony Joshua steps in against Puvel, on the ringside will be the current WBC heavyweight champion of the world, Tyson Fury. Needless to say, it makes the hugely anticipated return of Anthony Joshua much more exciting.

According to boxing promoter Eddie Hearn, the “Gypsy King” will be on the ringside ahead of Joshua’s first title defense after reclaiming the gold against Andy Ruiz Jr. back in December of 2019. AJ has already signed a two-fight deal with Tyson Fury and both the British heavyweights are expected to take on each other sometime in 2021.

However, for that to be an undisputed heavyweight championship match, Joshua will have to get past Kubray Pulev.

Tyson Fury vs Anthony Joshua to take place in 2021

Tyson Fury has not stepped inside the boxing ring ever since his stoppage win over former WBC heavyweight champion and then-undefeated Deontay Wilder. Gypsy King has called out numerous challengers.

However, he has not been able to land a fight. Be that as it may, everything has pointed towards AJ as the next opponent for Fury. It looks like Fury will wait for Joshua and fight him next for the undisputed heavyweight championship.

However, we may be overlooking Kubrat Pulev in anticipation of the all-time classic between the British heavyweights. The Bulgarian fighter is an extremely proficient boxer and definitely has what it takes to create an upset inside the boxing ring. Regardless of the result, it’s safe to assume that Tyson Fury will be ringside watching the spectacle as it unfolds.
