Tyson Fury is headed towards an inevitable clash against Anthony Joshua. However, there are events that can complicate it. While Fury didn’t have to face Dillian Whyte after Whyte lost his mandatory title shot, Joshua does have an opponent. He will face Kubrat Pulev this weekend in a massive fight that will decide whether Fury and Joshua can eventually fight.

AJ has already been through a similar detour already. He had to fight Andy Ruiz Jr. twice because he lost the first fight. However, that experience had most definitely matured him, as he looks to secure the Fury super-fight.
Many would expect Fury to be in attendance to get a close look at his possible future opponent. But, ‘The Gypsy King’ has announced that he will not be attending any boxing events this weekend.

“I will not be attending any boxing this week. So for all the rumors going around that I am going to be attending some boxing, I will not be. Don’t expect fireworks, don’t expect any action from the Gypsy King because I’ll be grafting. I’ll be working as usual, always staying fit and ready. Good night, God bless.”

Tyson Fury vs Anthony Joshua: Are we a step closer?
Before we start hypothesizing whether Tyson Fury can beat Anthony Joshua, we should not forget about Kubrat Pulev. Pulev is one of the hardest fights that AJ could have gotten. It is even harder than facing Andy Ruiz Jr. However, it is unlikely that AJ will leave any lapses in his preparation this time, especially considering what happened against Ruiz.

Fury has never been big on building up hype and doing things to be the talk of the town. He does that by being himself inside the ring and being open about everything he had to go through to earn this position back.

Whether Fury watches the fight from Wembley or not is immaterial. He will be watching the fight from somewhere and will take notes on his possible future opponent- if ‘AJ’ can get past Pulev.
