Ahead of his fight, Anthony Joshua opened up about his pick for the fight between Spence Jr and Crawford. It should be noted that Anthony Joshua is currently trained by Derrick James, who recently started a partnership with Lightweight Ryan Garcia.

In an interview with BoxingSocial, the Heavyweight was asked about the fighter he is most impressed by in the sport. When asked about the fighter, the interviewer was curious to know about Ryan Garcia. But, Joshua did not have a response to that as he claimed he had not yet properly trained with the Lightweight. However, he went on to pick the fighter he was impressed by. He said, “Errol, of course”

The interviewer further wanted to know Joshua’s take on the upcoming super-fight. Notably, he understood the difficulty of the fight. He claimed that he is backing up Spence Jr to win against Crawford. The 33-year-old said, “50-50 fight. But, I back him.” It seems like Joshua is siding with Spence Jr to prevail against Crawford, who has made his intentions very clear for this fight.

Derrick James is undoubtedly one of the most prominent trainers in the sport. With Ryan Garcia joining his list, he has quite a stable of fighters to boast. Apart from Garcia, he is also responsible for training Joshua and Spence Jr.

Notably, James took to his Instagram to share a picture of training with all the stars of the stable. With one of the biggest fights of Spence Jr’s career, it will be interesting to see how things pan out in the fight.
