Middleweight contenders Austin Williams and Kieron Conway are set to face off for the vacant WBA International Middleweight title on September 17th. The bout will take place on the undercard of the trilogy clash between Canelo Alvarez and Gennady Golovkin at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

Austin Williams vs. Kieron Conway: physical attributes

Willams is a 26-year-old American boxer and one of the best prospects in the middleweight division. He stands at 6 feet tall and has a 78-inch reach. Moreover, he is currently undefeated in the ring with a perfect 11-0 record with 9 KO victories. Williams has had two wins in the first half of 2022 beating former title challenger Javier Maciel in February. Following this, he defeated unbeaten Chordale Booker at Madison Square Garden in April.

Conway, on the other hand, is also a 26-year-old boxer from England. He stands at 5-feet-11-inches tall and has an unlisted reach. Conway has a professional record of 18-2-1 in his 21 professional bouts with 3 KO wins under his belt. Moreover, this will be his first time-fighting in Vegas coming into the fight with back-to-back victories over Gregory Trenel and James Metcalf.

Willams returned to boxing in December, securing a stoppage victory over Quatavious Cash ending a nine-month hiatus. Following this, he has been on a run of three impressive KO victories that have resulted in the Houston native getting the 7th spot in the WBA rankings ahead of this fight.

Conway is also no stranger to competing in big fights, having faced Souleymane Cissokho in May 2021 at the AT&T Stadium. However, he was on the wrong end of a split decision loss in a close bout. However, the British boxer has since bounced back with back-to-back victories.

Coming into the fight, Williams is the heavy favorite to win. He currently poses an undefeated record and has devastating KO power, ending 11 of his 13 victories via KO. Many tout him to be one of the best emerging contenders in the stacked middleweight division. Although Conway will be an underdog in the fight, he does have more experience than Williams. ‘Too Class’ has competed in 21 pro bouts and has a plethora of experience he could use to his advantage in the fight.
