During his prime, Mike Tyson was one of the most fearsome boxers in the world. He had a talent for terrifying his opponents with his muscular physique, malevolent glare, and his black trunks and shoes with no socks; he looked and played the part of an executioner. This eventually garnered him the nickname ‘The Baddest Man On The Planet’.

However, there was one person who could seemingly beat Tyson according to the champ himself and it was none other than former UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion Ronda Rousey.

Tyson states Rousey could beat him in a fight

In an interview with HuffPost Live back in 2015 Tyson was asked to comment on Manny Pacquiao claiming that Rousey could beat Floyd Mayweather in a fight and the champ replied by saying that she could probably beat him and praised Rousey for her previous fight.

S**t, Ronda Rousey might kick my a*s. That 14 seconds the last fight s**t, man, you got to take that seriously. She’s marketed herself, and not necessarily from a publicist’s perspective. She put in the work, too. She’s putting these people to bed, she’s tapping them out, she’s doing the 14-second thing,” he said.

Tyson certainly believed that Rousey could prove to be a tough matchup for him. So how about we take a look at the odds and compare how these two would fare in a fight?

Mike Tyson vs Ronda Rousey

No matter how you look at it, it is almost certain that Tyson would be the victor between the two if a fight ever did happen. Although ‘Iron Mike was humble when he made the above comments, from a practical standpoint there is very little chance that Rousey would beat him. Tyson has almost a 100-pound advantage over the former UFC champ and is a much stronger and quicker athlete.

The only advantage that Rousey might have over him would be her Judo and MMA skills, which are far superior to Tyson. However, those alone won’t help Rousey to beat The Baddest Man On The Planet. Moreover, these comments were made during Rousey’s unbeaten streak in the UFC and, in hindsight, have not aged so well.
