WBC lightweight champion Devin Haney is one of the most prolific fighters on the active roster, boasting a clean record of 25-0. While the 135 lbs roster has several undefeated elites, ‘The Dream’ is comfortably one of them.

Just over five years into the professional circuit, he is already a headlining superstar. Hence, ‘The Dream’ appears to have a bright future ahead. Meanwhile, as he continues to grow as a household figure, his love for boxing remains the same.

Despite all the attention and glory, Haney has never compromised on his boxing drills. He expressed a similar essence with his latest tweet and thrilled his fans all over the world. Devin Haney wrote, “Be loyal to the game & it will be loyal back.”

The 22-year-old is apparently the most avoided fighter on the lightweight roster. Following his first successful world title defense against Yuriorkis Gamboa, Haney aimed shots at several big names.

He called out Ryan Garcia, and considering Garcia’s win for the WBC Interim title; the matchup was relevant. However, Garcia didn’t show any interest in facing Haney. Later, he was rumored to face former champion Vasyl Lomachenko. However, the idea fell off.

Nevertheless, Devin Haney has found a viable contender in Jorge Linares to defend his title. He will return to action on May 29 in a 12-round main event.

Former lightweight world champion Jorge Linares can recapture his lost throne by being the first man to beat Devin Haney. The Venezuelan boxer holds a professional record of 47-5 and has vast experience in the sport.

The orthodox hitter is currently on a two-fight win streak and can rightfully look into the eye of Devin Haney. But it may cost him a lot since Haney, with his insane skills, hasn’t appeared easy to deal with inside the ring.

Although this doesn’t put a dent in Linares’ chances, the 35-year-old cannot underestimate the champion. Matchroom will organize the fight and it will be available live on the PPV on DAZN. Adding to that, a six-match fight card is still being built.
