Both Paul and Askren will earn a lucrative pay-check from this bout. However, the internet sensation will reportedly earn a larger sum thanks to his online presence and following. Askren has now questioned the YouTuber’s pull and claimed that he’s the one promoting the event.

The 19-2 fighter spoke at the press conference and gave his honest opinion on the event. He said, “I actually think, you know, we should have our contracts reversed.

“You know, I’m sure Jake’s getting some sorta PPV bonus. I’m carrying the f****** promotion of this fight. Jake ain’t promoting s**t.”

This showed Askren feels he has gotten the better of the verbal battles between the two in the lead-up to the fight. Moreover, his comment showed that he believes Jake Paul has attracted no one despite all the trash talk. ‘Funky’ even pointed out their interviews on FightHub TV to draw a comparison.

Ben Askren asks for more bonuses

These comments from the former MMA champion made no secret of his disapproval of Jake Paul being the major attraction. As a result, Askren expressed his desire to get rewarded for promoting the fight more than the YouTuber.

‘Funky’ said, “Triller maybe need to send me a couple more million-dollar bonuses afterwards because the promotion of this fight is squarely on my shoulders. Jake’s not doing his job.”

Thus, Askren did not hide the fact that he’s unhappy with being paid less than Jake Paul despite promoting the fight more than Paul. Moreover, he even made a dig at ‘The Problem Child’ by saying he isn’t doing his job since Jake Paul is an entertainer by profession.

These comments set things up perfectly for the main event on Saturday. Given all the trash talk, fans will hope that the fight delivers.

What do you make of these comments from Ben Askren? Do you think ‘Funky’ is right in saying he has promoted the fight better?
