The Ben Askren vs. Jake Paul bout is one of the most talked-about fights of the year. Despite the contrasting opinions, it’s the fight on everyone’s lips. In addition, the two fighters have engaged in regular verbal battles and added to the hype.

Ahead of their highly anticipated bout, ‘Funky’ may have just fueled yet another war of words between the two. And with less than two weeks to the bout, Askren’s latest comments could influence the bout even more.

The former UFC fighter joined Jake Paul’s older brother Logan Paul on an episode of ‘Impaulsive’. Askren said, “Jake cried when you lost. And listen, I thought that was kinda cool. People were making fun of him, [but] I thought, ‘Hey, he loves his brother. That’s cool.”

Jake Paul has been on the receiving end of a lot of criticism over the years. And when Logan Paul lost his bout to fellow YouTuber KSI, Paul cried in the dressing room. As a result, it became a way for many to troll the YouTuber. However, Askren clearly feels this is uncalled for.

These comments from Askren showed he disagreed with all the jokes directed towards Jake Paul. ‘Funky’ made it clear that it was a moment of brotherly love. In addition, the former MMA champion even shared an instance where he cried.

Before talking about Jake Paul’s episode, Askren said, “Listen, I’ve cried when my brother won. When he won the national title. I shed a couple of tears. It was very emotional for me to see him break through and win the NCAA.”

This comment showed why Askren understands why ‘The Problem Child’ shed tears when Logan Paul lost. Although it was a very different situation to the Paul brothers, Askren will also understand Logan Paul’s decision to side with his younger brother when the two meet in the ring.
