Most of the events glued millions of fans all around the globe, and they couldn’t have asked for more. On top of this, almost every modern era boxing star took to the ring, making it a decorated year for the sport.

Some fights not only entertained fans but also did incredibly well in terms of PPV buys. That said, here we look at some prime boxing events of 2021.

2) Anthony Joshua vs Oleksandr Usyk – 1.2 million PPV buys

Anthony Joshua and Usyk’s showdown was one of the most important heavyweight scuffles of 2021. This fight was regarded as the sternest test for the Briton as ‘The Cat’ was a supremely tactical fighter.

Usyk ended up pulling off an upset, and this fight was estimated to bag over 1.2 million PPV buys.

3) Floyd Mayweather vs Logan Paul – 1 million PPV buys

This matchup was an exuberant contest between a YouTuber and a boxing GOAT.

The lanky Paul had zero chances to withstand Mayweather’s wrath. However, he went through Mayweather’s boxing brilliance to take the fight deep.

4) Canelo Alvarez vs Caleb Plant – 800,000 PPV buys

The undisputed super-middleweight collision was one of the most awaited fights of 2021. The favorite Canelo Alvarez put his brilliance to the test to bag a T/KO win. On top of this, being such a hyped event, this bout bagged 800,000 PPV buys in the US only.

That said, the total numbers aren’t available, however, this fight did some mammoth numbers on the PPV.

5) Deontay Wilder vs Tyson Fury 3 – 600,000 PPV buys

This was one of the best heavyweight clashes of all time which bagged around 600,000 PPV buys in the US alone.

There’s no news on total numbers of this fight’s PPV, but this bout was also one of the most-watched boxing events in 2021.
